Studies: Hearing aids can reduce risk of dementia, but people may not be buying them over the counter

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 06:55:54 GMT

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- It's been exactly one year since the Food and Drug Administration approved the sale of over-the-counter hearing aids on Oct. 17, 2022. The 49 other states were graded for costs, wellness, jobs, fun, culture and safety. And just to make sure I didn’t goof, other “best state” rankings also were reviewed. What did I learn? It had four grades in the bottom five. The next lowest we...
