A Laguna Hills drug dealer was sentenced Friday to 20 years in federal prison after a pair of his customers overdosed on fentanyl in a six-week span in 2021.Jason Amin Soheili, 28, pleaded guilty in December to two counts of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release. He was arrested in May 2021, weeks after the fatal overdoses in February and April of that year. Republican Assemblymember Bill Essayli introduced a resolution in the California State Assembly on Thursday that would urge the United States government to pause the development of artificial intelligence.The resolution, formally known as AJR 6, would urge the federal government to impose “an immediate moratorium on the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4 for at least six months to allow time to develop much-needed AI governance systems,” according to the bill’s text.
