Keeler: Kevin Durant is fried. Karl-Anthony Towns is fishing. Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon has become dragon-slayer of NBA Playoffs and Denver’s secret MVP. Aaron Gordon has slayed more heavyweights than Joe Louis, more wizards than Voldemort, more dragons than Euron Greyjoy. Before Gordon waltzed into his nightmares with arm extended, hand in his face, the last time Kevin Durant missed at least nine three-point attempts in the NBA Playoffs was (checks notes) five stinking Aprils ago. The number of times KD had misfired 10 times from 3-point land in a postseason game before Gordon and the Nuggets put down the clamps in Game 2? Zero.“There were a few possessions when I’m watching that film (Tuesday) and I freeze it and you have Bruce (Brown) and Aaron Gordon — I mean, I’m gonna frame it and put it in my house,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone gushed Wednesday at Ball Arena before the team flew to Phoenix for Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series with the Suns.“It’s like a work of art (on) a double contest. That’s championship defense right there.”We’ve seen the Nuggets without Jamal Murray. We̵...

Russia unlikely to face criticism at Central Asian meeting PANAJI, India (AP) — Russia is unlikely to face backlash over its war in Ukraine at an upcoming meeting of Central Asian foreign ministers and instead could flex its influence with the regional group. The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization ministers Friday in India’s picturesque state of Goa is the latest avenue for the host nation to burnish its geopolitical credentials as it seeks to cement itself as a consequential global player. It won’t have to contend with an East-West split over the war in Europe, which caused frustration for New Delhi as the chair for this year’s meetings of the Group of 20 leading economies. But India will be looking to secure its own interests in the region, especially as Russia relies more deeply on India’s rival China as Moscow’s invasion drags on, analysts say.India will also be hosting archrival Pakistan’s foreign minister in the first visit from a high-ranking official in nearly a decade.“Russia needs friends.
